A slick after-hours club, low light and cool people — the kind of room where everybody's too hip to look impressed. This is NESTO's place — one of Ozzy's old teammates, a "bro" from the glory days, now running the smoothest scene in town. TELLY pushes in off the road, still swimming in Ozzy's too-big letterman jacket, clutching his brother's photo, earnest as a splinter in all this cool.
TELLY (to a dancer, then another, then anyone) — 'Scuse me — you seen my bro? Shifty guy, number zero, they call him — dude, you seen Nobody around here?!
The crowd doesn't stop moving. They pass him hand to hand, spin him, look through him — and answer in the coolest brush-off in town.
THE CLUE
NESTO (low, slipping him a napkin with an address) — Word is a shifty cat came through. He's headed for the water, kid. The long way always ends at the water. (disappearing into the groove) ...if you dig.
TELLY (clutching it, the beat lifting him) — ...the water. I'm comin', Oz.
