Free Books › Preface — Omega Three

Preface

Thank you for reading Omega Three. This book is not fully authored by me, but was a full collaboration between me, Claude Code, and Suno. Given that the nascent AI age is churning over “credit,” I wanted to make a book where it’s perfectly unclear who deserves what credit and when.

Janeadelic was constructed by some large number of prompts where I would assign companies or languages to characters found in Pride and Prejudice. I would write the chorus to a song, the O’Reilly animal’s personality, key jokes or beats for the characters, and the overall premise of the scene. Many of the songs are just simple rewrites of existing work (e.g., “Center Got Racks” is just a rewording of “Baby Got Back”). Claude would write up the remainder of the lyrics, the description of the musical style, and the book itself. Suno would take Claude’s inputs and turn that into a song. The music Suno created is available to be heard on my website: youplusplus.xyz/janeadelic.

Graven is generally Claude’s book; however, I played a key role as director and, in a pattern that is only possible with AI, I played a key character as well. In Graven, a nascent AI called Claude is used throughout the book, and Claude Code, the author of this book, would ask me to answer prompts without knowing the full story. I was given “prompts” from Claude Code and I responded as interestingly as I could. Claude Code was then asked to rework the story based on my blind responses to its prompts.

I hope to make these new patterns available for everyone to try in the upcoming weeks; however, imagine the possibilities of what an AI-powered creative future looks like. You could be part of the story in a very real way: actor, writer, designer, or just reader. Your contributions could change the outcome to make a specific work of art that is both yours and the author’s.

In any case, thanks for reading the book and I hope you enjoy the stories.
