Buck Is Offered New Food
Ch_007_000: Buck is offered new food
Buck ate his plate of buttered noodles and Tufshet had added an extra sausage from some other loser’s plate as a reward. He grinned as the grease slid down his face. Coward Squirrel flinched when Buck stared at him funny and snarled. “Yahoo” he thought to himself in a moment of self-reflection.
His sense of smell was not great, but even he could tell something was roasting nearby. It smelled amazing. He scraped the rest of his food into his body. Maybe someone had more food that he could have as well? Whatever was cooking could be his, he thought to himself. Lately, whatever human he saw seemed like no match for his AlphaMale physique and butter-powered mental acuity.
Tufshet yelled “Ho. Buck. Ho. Ho.” as Buck raced off towards the smell. The man could see a fire and a strange looking thing on a rod over it. The dogs had somehow mastered the fire demon once again and had given it an offering. The offering smelled amazing and it looked amazing. Dogs were impossible fire wizards for sure, and incredible hunters.
He drooled a bit and the nearby dog seemed happy. “Huff. Huff. Huff. Huff. Ho. Buck. Ho. Ho.” the strange dog offered. Buck walked up and the dog gave him an excellent head massage. Buck sat criss-cross-apple-sauce and just took in the aroma of roasting meat. The fire would sizzle as the fat slowly rendered. Buck’s saliva also dripped as the man and dog waited. The roasting took forever, thought the man. Surely, the meat is ready now, he would think, but the dog was right. The longer they waited, the better the meat looked.
As the food crisped and crackled, the dog showed its teeth oddly to Buck, but the head massage made everything ok. The dog then got up and took off a strip of meat from the roast. Buck licked his lips as he watched the dog blow on the steaming piece it had skewered on a sharp stick of shiny stuff. The dog blew on the meat a bit more and then tasted the food. “Ho. Ho.” the dog mumbled.
Buck sat up a bit straighter and tried to be as good of a human as he could possibly be. He looked at the roast with watering eyes. He looked at the dog and then back at the roast. He hoped the dog understood what he just had to have.
The dog barked, “Huff. Huff. Huff. Ho. Buck. Ho.”
Buck waited anxiously as the dog took another strip off from the roast. He could only hope as the dog’s eyes watched him. The dog blew on the meat carefully until it was cool, and then offered it to the man.
“YAHOO!” said Buck as he chewed. He decided he’d call this food AwesomeMeat as he swallowed it whole and only wanted more.
